Recently, we have been witnessing a huge campaign going viral in social media to protect Mada forests from destruction in the state of Andhrapradesh. This social media campaign gained traction when a petition was filed in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) by some environmental activists and the NGT immediately ordering for a committee to enquire into the whole issue. People on social media have been posting various photographs on how these mangrove swamps have been levelled by the government with mud near Kakinada of East Godavari district. They also started a petition in change.org and gathered the support of many people to sign the petition. This campaign also added some political colour when the opposition parties in the state started to add voice to it. Satellite Image of North Sentinel Island Sentinelese are indigenous people part of aboriginal tribes living in Andaman islands.They inhabit the northern sentinel island in the Bay of Bengal. They are believed to be living on the island from the past 60,000 years with no contact with the outside world. Are they really hostile?? Not really,They give enough warnings to stay away from them and not to intrude into their places. They don't want to contact with other tribes and remain isolated. As many people say they are not hostile and allow outsiders only up to some area of the island. According to 2011 census,their population was just 15 with 10 huts on the Island. They don't have immunity to even the commonest of the infections,so if they come in contact with outside people there are much chances that they may get easily infected by any of the deadly diseases and the tribe may get extinct in no time. The indian civil services examination is conducted every year by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION(UPSC). It allows aspiring indian youth to serve the country through joining prestigious civil services.The general age limit for candidates who are appearing for the examination is 21-30 years. UPSC tests the candidate by intially conducting perliminary examination(Objective).Once the candidate is successful,he or she has to give MAINS Examination (descriptive). Finally the candidates who are successful in mains examination has to attend the interview (personality test).After clearing all the above tests, UPSC offers the opportunity to work in civil services.
